Event Information

Join us for our first GP Trial at Common Ground Games. This event will get you a 2 round bye at the Albuquerque GP. Good practice for the GP Trials for Dallas in December.

Date: Sunday, October 13th
Starts: 11am for deck check.
Format: Standard Constructed.
Entry: $15 Per Person.
Players: Max of 40 Players
Prizes: 2 Boosters per participant in the prize pool, +1 booster for every 2 participants in the prize pool as well. First place also is awarded a 2 Round Bye at the Albuquerque GP.

Tournament Length: 
•Swiss rounds - 50 minutes per round
•Playoff matches will have no time limit
•Number of Swiss rounds based on attendance according to the following chart: 

Attendance / Swiss rounds / Playoff 
8 / 3 Single-Elimination Rounds (No Swiss rounds, no playoff) / None (run only three Single Elimination rounds) 
9 -16 (If Constructed) / 5 Rounds / Top 4 
17 - 32 / 5 Rounds / Top 8 
33 - 40 / 6 Rounds / Top 8 

Advancement: 
•All players may participate in all Swiss rounds.
•The top players after the final Swiss round will advance to the single-elimination playoff. The number of players that advanced to the playoff is based on the number of players in the event (see chart above).

Playoff: 
•Playoff matches will be best 2 of 3.
•Playoff matches will be single-elimination.
•Playoff matches will have no time limit.
•Where necessary, the standings after the Swiss rounds will still be used to determine final order in the standings.

• Players are responsible for bringing their own method of tracking life totals, card sleeves and appropriate counters or tokens. 
• This is a premier Magic tournament. The store owner, organizer, judge(s), and/or scorekeeper(s) of a Grand Prix Trial are not permitted to play in the tournament. 

You may pre-register for this event. A slot is not considered 'held' unless paid for. Spots may be given away if the registered player is not here at the time the tournament begins.

The store will open at 10:30am and stay open for the duration of the event.
