Tennessee Judge Conference @ GP Nashville

This is the sign-up page for the Tennessee Judge Conference at GP Nashville.

The conference will be held from 4-8 pm on Friday, October 31st (yes, this means we're running a judge conference on Halloween. There may or may not be candy) at the Music City Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Tennessee judges are eligible to apply. All others are asked to refrain from doing so. If you do not reside in Tennessee and believe you deserve to attend the conference, you may apply.

Attendance for the conference will be capped at 70 participants.

Scheduling for the conference is split into two groups: Beginner Seminars and Advanced Seminars. There will be one seminar from each group each hour.

BEGINNER SEMINARS

4 PM: Deck Checks with Robert Romine - Rob gives us an overview for newer judges about deck checks, and includes several strategies and techniques to try!
5 PM: Morph with Jonathan Holland - Just in time for a Team Sealed Grand Prix, Jonathan gives us the run-down on morph creatures, including many possible scenarios that we can expect at the GP!
6 PM: Actions with Patrick Vorbroker - Patrick is here to go over Actions, an oft-overlooked part of Magic rules.
7 PM: Communication, Conflict, and Customer Service with Aaron Hamer - Everyone's favorite Hawaiian judge has traveled to Tennessee to give us a broad overview of how to give the best customer service, handle conflicts as they arise, and communicate in a way that will leave all players (and judges) satisfied.

ADVANCED SEMINARS

4 PM: Tournament Logistics with John Alderfer - John will discuss best practices for tournament logistics and how to ensure that your event runs as smoothly as possible!
5 PM: Unsporting Conduct with James Elliott - James is back with his infamous seminar on USC. He'll cover the new changes and will help you know when to pull the trigger.
6 PM: Copy Effects with Steven Zwanger - Steven Zwanger (AKA the Red Monocle) will give you an in-depth look at Copy Effects and how to apply them.Expect to see some follow-up on morphs in this seminar!
7 PM: Casting a Spell with Stefan Mackiewicz - Stefan walks us through all the steps of casting a spell.

ANY AND ALL

8 PM: Regional Coordinator Q&A with Nicholas Sabin - The Mid-Atlantic Regional Coordinator will be available to answer any questions about judging, the direction of the program, and why the Boston Red Sox are still the best baseball team in the United States. (This does not count as a seminar for the purpose of receiving foils.)
