Event Information
On behalf of Beanie Games, I am pleased to open solicitations for the judge staff for this PTQ for Pro Tour Dewey in Washington D.C. (copied and edited from Andrew's PTQ-announcement)
Hi everyone!
I will be acting as Head Judge and I am looking for about 5 floor judges, a skore keeper and 2-3 standby judges to staff this event. (It will be the first PTQ in the north so we have no idea right now on how many players to expect. I will update the numbers as we get more information on how much players the other Khans-PTQs get). I will accept more judges step by step as applications come in. Last round of accepting apllications will be at least 1 week before the event. Standby judges will either play the main event for free or will get activated on site if too many players come in.
To apply for this event, you must be a minimum of Level 1 and must have knowledge of the IPG. Level 2+ is naturally preferred. As the format for this event is Limited, I would like you to specify in your application whether or not you have previous experience of working at a Comp REL Sealed event. If you do not, this does not mean that I will discount you, it simply gives me additional information which I can use to build my staff. Please also mark whether you are available as a standby judge and write something about your recent judging experience.
I expect all accepted applicants to brush up on the new mechanics and in particular to re-read any rules pertaining to Morph. I expect a lot of rules questions to come up, so I expect all of my judges to be up to date with the card pool! Furthermore judges on staff should be up to date on recent policy changes. (partial fixes etc).
I would like judges available on site at around 8.30am (maybe 9am, have still to confirm with the TO) and to bring appropriate judging attire, which means a black shirt, black trousers, black shoes and a belt. Black shoes do not necessarily have to be smart shoes, so long as they are comfortable for you to wear (as the event will last 11+ hours, most of the judges will be released after Swiss rounds and I will most probably complete Top8 only with local judges)
Compensation for the event will be a box of the most recent set for each judge (so Khans of Tarkir)! Additionally I'm still negotiating with the TO, judges on staff may get free food and drinks. I will update you on this.
Thank you for reading. If you have any questions, please ask me via Facebook or Private Message.
