East Coast Gamers in Toms River, NJ is soliciting judges for our Preliminary Pro Tour Qualifier on 6 December, 2014. As one of the first few PPTQs, we need to prepare for a wide range of possible attendance numbers. In addition to two floor judges, we will be looking for up to two standby judges.

Expectations

All judges selected for this event are expected to arrive at the venue by 9:30. Judges should be familiar with common rules and card interactions in Khans Limited, as well as the most recent versions of the Magic Tournament Rules and the Infraction Procedure Guide. Floor Judges should arrive in uniform ready to work, Standby Judges should arrive ready to play, but should be prepared to change into uniform prior to the start of the event if needed. All judges are expected to be available until the conclusion of the swiss rounds. If you are able to stay for part of top 8, or are unable to meet these expectations, please note this in your application.

The Magic Judge uniform consists of black pants with a black belt, black shoes, and a Magic Judge shirt or a plain black button-down shirt. Also part of your uniform: a red pen, a blue or black pen, a notebook, some device capable of telling time, and a name badge, if you have one.

Compensation

All Floor Judges at this event will receive $100 store credit at East Coast Gamers or a booster box of any in-print set, plus a $20 cash stipend for meals. Level 2+ judges will receive an additional $20 to help offset the costs of travel. Standby Judges will receive free entry to the event unless they are activated. If activated, they will receive the full compensation of a Floor Judge.
