Event Information
Hello, Judges. Applications for Gamerz Co-op's $1000 prize tournament in Pierrefonds, Quebec, Canada have begun! The formats of the event is Khans of Tarkir sealed deck during the swiss rounds and draft during the top 8.
Application Details
We are currently looking for two floor judges and two standby judges. Standby judges will only be required to floor judge if player attendance reaches a high number. Judges do not need to have DCI certification but should at least have significant knowledge of the Magic Comprehensive Rules and Magic Tournament Rules.
Any standby judge who is not enrolled as a floor judge will instead be allowed to play in the main event free of charge. Please indicate in your application if you prefer to apply as a standby judge.
All judges are expected to arrive at the tournament venue before player registration begins at 9:00am and stay until after the conclusion of the swiss rounds.
Applications will be accepted until November 22, 2014. Staff selections will be announced the following day.

The head judge of the main event is Eric Paré, level 2; and the tournament organizer is Kyle Hooper.
This is a competitive REL tournament. Judges are expected to be familiar with the Magic Infraction Procedure Guide.
Expectations
In addition to taking judge calls during the main event, judges will also be expected to help out with:
- Controlling the crowd.
- Posting player seatings, pairing, and standings.
- Distributing limited product and match slips.
- Collecting and verifying deck lists.
- Performing deck checks.
- Assist with scorekeeping if necessary.
- Assist with side events.
- Collecting garbage and pushing in chairs.
Compensation
Certified (level 1 or higher) judges will each receive their choice of either 36 Khans of Tarkir booster packs or $72 store credit redeemable at Gamerz Co-op.
Uncertified judges will each receive their choice of either 18 Khans of Tarkir booster packs or $36 store credit.
Should attendance reach 100 players, each judge will receive a bonus compensation of either 10 more booster packs or $20 additional store credit.
All judges will receive beverages and lunch paid by the organizer.
