Event Information
On behalf of Top Deck Events and Wizards of the Coast, welcome to the staff application page for Grand Prix: Auckland. Auckland is going to be an exciting Magic weekend with lots of special events, and catching up. We are looking for friendly, knowledgeable, professional individuals with a goal of providing exceptional guest service through the entire Grand Prix experience. If this sounds like you, then we welcome you to apply within and be a part of the amazing team that will make Auckland a memorable and Magical weekend.
Expectations
Judges are expected to work Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
All staff members are expected to perform in a professional manner that reflects positively on the rest of the event staff, the Tournament Organizer, Wizards of the Coast and the Judge Program. We desire team members that diligently seek to promote a fun, exciting environment for everyone to enjoy. This also includes avoiding activities that could in any way negatively affect a staff member’s performance.
All staff members are expected to dress professionally throughout the weekend, with all clothing clean and neat. Staff members who do not meet this expectation will be sent to remedy the situation immediately or will be removed without compensation. Judges are expected to wear the Magic Judge shirt, dark undershirt, black belt, black pants, black socks, and black shoes. Staff members in a judging role will adhere to the above dress guidelines, donning the Top Deck Events staff shirt instead of the Magic judge shirt while working in a non-judging role. Staff shirts will be provided as needed.
Compensation
With Judge foils being used now for the Exemplar system Top Deck events has put together a comprensive compensation package, to make sure Grand Prix events are very attrative to judges.
All judges will be receiving a judge version of the Grand Prix: Auckland playmat, and a commemorative Grand Prix Auckland Judge Badge! Judges will also receive booster boxes, Hotel and Travel reimbursement, and food stipend based on level. There will be 2 Judge dinners!!! One on the Thursday night to welcome the community together and mingle with event staff, and the second on the Saturday night.
Compensation based on level is as follows:
- Level 1 judges will receive $100.00 food stipend and 3 booster displays.
- Level 2 judges will receive $200.00 food stipend and 5 booster displays. Additionally they will have travel and hotel costs reimbured up to the rate of $300 for Hotel and $200 for Travel*.
- Level 3 judges will receive $300.00 food stipend and 7 booster displays. Additionally they will have travel and hotel costs reimbured up to the rate of $400 for Hotel and $300 for Travel*. If the Level 3 judge is travelling from outside Australia / New Zealand they will be reimbured $600.00 for travel.
- Level 4 judges will receive $300.00 food stipend and 9 booster displays. Additionally they will have travel and hotel costs reimbured up to the rate of $400 for Hotel and $800 for Travel*.
For example, a Level 2 judge working the event would receive:
1 - Grand Prix Auckland Playmat
1 - Grand Prix Auckland Judge Badge!
5 - Booster displays of Fate Reforged
$200 food stipend and $300 for Hotel and $200 travel reinbursement*.
*: You must supply Top Deck Events with Tax Invoice / Receipt from your hotel and flights. We will reimburse you in NZD at the GP itself.
Notification of Application
You will be notified through Judge apps if your application has been successfull. If it has, we will send you the vollenteer agreement to sign which is a requirement.
