PTQ Dragons of Tarkir - Little Chalfont

There was some delay in getting all the information and me into one place on this one, so the announcement is a little late - but welcome to the application for Axion Now's LAST EVER PTQ*!

The event is going to be held on Saturday January 3rd (just enough time to sleep off the hangovers!) at the Challoner's High School venue that they have used the last couple of times. Doors open for registration at 8.30am and judges are expected to be avaiable to help with some setting up at the beginning, so judges should be able to be on site by 8.30am for a tournament start at 10am. The TO is expecting to cater to 200 players, meaning 8 rounds of Swiss. Judges will need to be able to be on site until at least the end of the Swiss rounds - likely to terminate around 6pm. Additionally, there will be a number of side events running through the day, including a GPT, which will require head judges. Compensation will be one box per judge, along with food (within reason). If we cross the 227 player threshold and go up to 9 rounds, compensation will increase to 1.5 boxes a judge. If we get more than 300 players, compensation will go to 2.5 boxes per judge, in recognition of the extra work that such a large event entails.

A part of the staff has already been selected following TO requests, pending their confirmation (and they will be added to the event once they have confirmed their availability); this means that at present I am only going to be accepting requests from L2+ judges for main staff positions. We are also looking to recruit a number of standby judges who will have free entry into the event if they are not needed on staff; if you are a level one who wishes to apply for a standby judge position, please let me know your competitive judging experience in the cover letter. Additionally, please use the cover letter to let me know if you would be likely to turn up late or leave early, and if you are willing to stay to help cover the top 8. 

*Obviously, they're still going to be doing PPTQs :)
