Nordic Region Spring Conference 2015

You are all very welcome to attend the Nordic region spring 2015 judge conference!

This conference will be held on the 28th of March, at Studiefrämjandet Malmö. The conference is mainly for the Nordic region judges but out of region judges will be accepted if venue space and conference budget allows it. That means that the answers on your application will take some time, if you need an answer by a specific date please state that in your application.

This is an official judge conference and foils will be available to certified participants who register before February 22nd. The conference will be held in English.

RC delivers a state of the Region and briefs us on what has happened since the last conference.

Face down Cards (Seminar 2a)
Whatever form of draconic magic created them face down cards will hide no secrets for you after this seminar. Both the rules and the common policy interactions will be manifested into your morphing judge knowledge.

Combat Phase (Seminar 2b)
This seminar will go through some of the most eventful steps of the turn; combat. We will cover both the basics as well as some more tricky rules and situations that can arise when traversing these steps. A lot of the judge calls you will get will involve combat in one way or another, so we hope to give you a more thorough understanding of combat with this seminar.

Inclusive Events (Seminar 3a)
We are going to talk about concrete ways of creating an inclusive and welcoming gaming culture, both in your local community and in the events that you work on. The interaction between you and the players as well as your fellow judges matter more then you think.

Quiz Time! (Seminar 5)
Once again working in small groups it is time for a challenging quiz, challenging in the fun way, not the tedious one.

Workshop brainstorming group: Some of the day will be in "workshop" format. Participants will be divided into small groups, given a topic to discuss, and asked to create a short presentation on the topic. We are looking for a small number of volunteers to help create suitable discussion topics. Please contact us if interested. 

Judge testing: Testing for both Level 1 and Level 2 will be offered. More details on testing will be published later. 

Accommodation: There is a hostel close to the venue, http://www.rutochragnars.se/. Since we are in Malmö there is also a lot of Scandics and othter hotels at walking distance from the venue.

Airport: The closest major airport is Kastrup, Copenhagen, Denmark. The Malmö airport Sturup is a possibility but Kastrup is in many cases just easier.
