Event Information
Heroes and Fantasies be hosting a PPTQ in Universal City, TX on January 31, 2015. We will be looking to hire a head judge & up to two stand-by judges. Stand-by judges will be used at the 40 & 60 player count levels. If stand-by judges are not utilized for judging they will receive free entry to the PPTQ. If you are a level 2 judge & wish to apply either for head judge or stand-by of the event please say that in your application. If you only want one or the other please verify that as well.
TRAVEL
Travel accomidation WILL be provided for head judges. We do NOT provide travel or hotel sponsorship for floor judges at this event.
EXPECTATIONS
Judges volunteering for this event are expected to prepare for each event by reviewing the Comprehensive Rules, Magic Tournament Rules, Infraction Procedure Guide, and Judging at Regular REL documents, each of which can be found at the Magic Judges Document Center. Judges are also expected to behave in a professional manner at all times, as representatives of Heroes and Fantasies and the Magic Judge program. This includes arriving on time, and in appropriate attire.
Judges should arrive no later than 9:45 AM on the day of the event and are expected to stay until the conclusion of the Swiss rounds. If you must arrive later than 9:45 AM or may have to leave before the conclusion of the Swiss rounds (to catch a ride, for instance), please note that in your application.
The dress code for judges at this event is an official judge shirt (black collared shirt if you do not have one), black pants (dress pants are preferred; jeans are acceptable), a belt, and comfortable shoes (both preferably black). Judges should not be in uniform while off-duty, including during breaks and while trading.
TESTING
Testing opportunities are NOT available at this event.
COMPENSATION
All judges for the event will be provided with lunch. Refreshments will be made available to judges working the event free of charge. Product compensation is as follows (cash & store credit options are available upon request $75/$100 credit per compensation unit):
Head Judge: 2 Booster Boxes of current Standard legal set
Stand-by Judges: 1 Booster Box of current Standard legal set (if working the event)
