Northeast Judge Conference - Spring 2015 - Philadelphia Convention Center

Update (4/21): The formal deadline to register for the conference has now passed.  If you are interested in attending, you are welcome to register for the event, but you will not be eligible to receive foils.

On behalf of the USA Northeast, we are excited to invite you all to our region's next Judge Conference!  This conference will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, PA.  Many thanks to Card Titan/Top Deck Games for generously sponsoring the use of this space.

Our goal is, quite simply, to make this the best judge conference that the Northeast has ever seen.  The conference will span five separate rooms for seminars of varying sizes, with a total capacity for 300 judges simultaneously.

How to Register

If you are interested in attending, simply click the "Apply Now!" button up above!  We will accept applications on a constant basis, so that you can gain quickly access to the event forums.  We expect the forums to be a helpful resource for coordinating travel and hotel plans with other judges.

All are welcome to attend, including uncertified judges and judges from regions outside the Northeast!  If you know an uncertified judge who is planning on attending, please encourage them to register for the event via JudgeApps so they can receive updates and information about the event, as well as help ensure an accurate headcount.

As a sign of appreciation, all certified judges (Level 1 or higher) who register on or before April 18, 2015 will receive a selection of promotional foil cards, proportional to the number of seminars attended.  Judges who register after April 18 are welcome to attend, but will not be eligible to receive foils.

Presenters

Excellent presenters are an essential element of a successful conference.  To that end, we are looking for high-quality, experienced presenters who are willing to push the envelope.  We envision presenters as facilitators and discussion leaders, not lecturers.

Five different seminar rooms will be available for this conference: two seating 100 people each, two seating 24 each, and one seating 60.  Each of these rooms has "classroom-style" seating, such that each attendee has a desk.  We are very open to holding discussion-intensive, workshop-style seminars in the smaller rooms.

If you are interested in presenting, please email us with your proposal at philadelphia.judge.conference@gmail.com by the end of Monday, April 13.  Your proposal should include:

• Seminar topic
• Ideal audience size
• Necessary equipment (projector, AV, etc.)
• Information and materials about previous seminars you have presented

Hotels

Downtown Philadelphia hotels are very full, and because of that, there isn't an official room block being offered. However, there are still very reasonable rates to be found 10-15 minutes outside the city.  If you search Mount Laurel, NJ or Prospect Park, PA many of the cheaper hotels will appear in your search.  

Schedule

The conference will begin at 10 am.  There will be a lunch break.

Level 1 and Level 2 Testing

L1 and L2 testing will be available at this conference.  More details will be posted shortly.
