Standard for a Beta Mox Jet

Greetings!

We're glad you're interested in applying to be a part of Grinders Games Standard for a Beta Mox Jet! The date for this event is Sunday, March 31st. We are not looking for the largest staff, but instead for a great solid staff!

EXPECTATIONS

Judges volunteering at a Grinders Games event are expected to prepare for each event by reviewing the Comprehensive Rules, Magic Tournament Rules, Infraction Procedure Guide, and Judging at Regular REL documents, each of which can be found at the Magic Judges Document Center. Judges are also expected to behave in a professional manner at all times, as representatives of Grinders Games and the Magic Judge program. This includes arriving on time, and in appropriate attire. 

Judges should arrive no later than 8:00 AM on Sunday and are expected to stay until the conclusion of the tournament. If you must arrive later than 8:00am or may have to leave before the conclusion of Swiss (to catch a ride, for instance), please note that in your application.

The dress code for judges at our events is a tucked-in black Magic Judge button-up shirt, judge nametag, black pants (dress pants are preferred; jeans are acceptable), a  belt, and comfortable shoes (both preferably black). Judges should not be in uniform while off-duty, including during breaks and while trading. Please bring a red pen to fill out penalties with, and , if you choose, a notebook, to take notes. (in hopes that you will be writing reviews of your fellow judges!)

Please be reminded that judging at Grinders Games is a lot of fun, but it's also a lot of work. You get to see some old friends and you'll hopefully make a few new ones - but you'll also take judge calls, give rulings, take registration, pick up trash, count lists, push in chairs, prepare product, pick up trash, move tables, push in chairs, deploy tablecloths, pick up trash, fold tablecloths, push in chairs, stay up late, pick up trash, push in chairs, help with breakdown, and pick up trash!
