Event Information
Hello Judges! On behalf of Hairy Tarantula I'm proud to announce our next Preliminary Pro Tour Qualifier! This PPTQ will feed Pro Tour Milwaukee 2015. We are looking for 1 Head Judge, 3 Floor Judges, and 1 Standby Judge for this event. Please read this entire listing as it will have details on expectations and compensation.
EXPECTATIONS
Judging is a lot of fun, but it's also a lot of work. Judges are also expected to review the Magic Comprehensive Rules, Magic Tournament Rules, and Infraction Procedure Guide. Judges are expected to arrive at 0900, and stay until at least the end of swiss. Judges are expected to arrive in proper judge attire (Magic Judge shirt or black button-up shirt, black slacks (no jeans please), and comfortable shoes). During breaks, you will be expected to cover or remove your Judge shirt.This event will also have a side event Standard GPT for Toronto. If you would like to Head Judge the GPT please note that in your application. If selected to HJ the GPT you will be on a later shift.
COMPENSATION
Our Compensation Unit (CU) is 18 boosters, $50 store credit, or $40 cash. Please mention in your application which you would prefer.
The Head Judge will receive 4 CUs. Only L2s will be considered for HJ. If you are interested in this position please list your past experience at PPTQs, PTQs or GPs.
If selected for 'Full Sponsorship' you will receive 2 CUs. Select this if you are an L2 or an experienced L1 who may be working towards L2. If you do not select this you will not be considered for HJ of the Standard GPT.
If selected as 'Volunteer' you will receive 1 CU. Please select this if you are an L0, or a newer L1 looking to get more Competitive REL experience. You are more likely to be selected as volunteer.
If selected as 'Standby' you will receive free entry into the event. At the Judge Manager's discretion, you may be activated. If activated, you will receive 2 CUs. We will only accept certified judges for standby (no L0s).
Additionally, lunch will be provided. Please note any dietary restrictions you may have.
Note: we will consider judges for Full Sponsorship or Volunteer BEFORE we will select Standby Judges. If you do not select Standby, we will not consider you for Standby.
