SCG Spring States - North Carolina

Greetings Judges!

Thank you for your interest in judging at the StarCityGames Spring States Weekend at Atomic Empire!

Event Info:

Saturday 4-11-15

On Saturday we have the SCG Spring Standard States! I'm looking to put together a staff of 6 volunteer judges and 2 standby judges to be activated if attendance exceeds expectations. Our Head Judge for this event will be Level 2 Aaron LaCluyze. 

Sunday 4-12-15

On Sunday we have the SCG Spring Modern States! I'm looking to put together a staff of 4 volunteer judges and 2 standby judges to be activated if attendance exceeds expectations. Our Head Judge for this event will be Level 2 Bruce Mills.

Expectations:

Please prepare for the event by reviewing the Comprehensive Rules, Magic Tournament Rules, Magic Infraction Procedure Guide, and the Judging at Regular REL documents. These documents are available online. 

Judges accepted to work the event will be expected to be on time at 9am on days they have been selected for staff. If selected for staff you are expected to wear black pants, comfortable shoes, socks, belt, and a black judge shirt. If you don't have a black judge shirt, please let Jeff know once you're accepted for the event. 

Please make sure to be on time for the events. Call time is 9am on each day. Atomic Empire will provide judges on staff with cold water, lunch or a lunch stipend, and a discount on any snacks purchased at the snack bar.

We expect each of these competitive REL events to go at least 7 rounds before they cut to the top 8.

Compensation:

Judges on staff for the event will receive their choice of 1 booster box of any standard legal set in stock or $85 in store credit for each day worked. Store credit can be used to purchase anything in the store or can be put on a gift card to save and use online or at a later time.

There is no travel compensation or hotel compensation provided for this event.

Due to staffing needs you might only be accepted for one day. If you need to be on staff both days in order to attend the event, please make sure to mention this in your application.

If you apply for standby and are selected to be a standby judge you will be allowed to play in the event at no charge as our way of saying thank you for volunteering to be there and be ready to play.
