Hairy Tarantula North PPTQ for PT Madrid (+SCG IQ)

EXPECTATIONS

Judging is a lot of fun, but it's also a lot of work. Judges are also expected to review the Magic Comprehensive Rules, Magic Tournament Rules, and Infraction Procedure Guide. Judges are expected to arrive at 9:00am, and stay until at least the end of swiss. Judges are expected to arrive in proper judge attire (Magic Judge shirt or black button-up shirt, black slacks (no jeans please), and comfortable shoes). During breaks, you will be expected to cover or remove your Judge shirt.

This event will also have a side event Legacy GPT for GP Seattle-Tacoma. If you would like to Head Judge the GPT please note that in your application. If selected to HJ the GPT you will be on a later shift (11:30am).

COMPENSATION (Some items have changed, please read)

We offer several options for judges to be compensated, in units called Compensation Units (CU). Each CU can be redeemed for: 15 boosters of KTK block or ORI, 4 boosters of MM2, $50 store credit, or $40 cash. If receiving multiple CUs you may mix and match accordingly. Please mention in your application what mix you would prefer. If no preference is selscted, we will default to store credit.

The Head Judge will receive 4 CUs. Only L2+s will be considered for HJ. If you are interested in this position please list your past experience at PPTQs, PTQs or GPs.

If selected for 'Full Sponsorship' you will receive 2 CUs. Select this if you are an L2+ or an experienced L1 who may be working towards L2. If you do not select this you will not be considered for HJ of the Standard GPT. If you are working towards L2 please list progress on relevant checklist items as our preference would be for L1s working on their L2 checklist.

If selected as 'Volunteer' you will receive 1 CU. Please select this if you are an L0, or a newer L1 looking to get more Competitive REL experience. You are more likely to be selected as volunteer. If you would like to test for L1 see below.

If selected as 'Standby' you may be activated as needed. If activated, you will receive 2 CUs. If you are selected for standby, but not activated we still invite you to participate, and we'll give you FREE ENTRY. We will only accept certified judges for standby (no L0s).

Additionally, a $10 lunch stipend will be provided to each judge on staff.

Note: we will consider judges for Confirmed statuses (Full Sponsorship or Volunteer) BEFORE we will select Standby Judges. If you do not select Standby, we will not consider you for Standby.

This event is also a StarCityGames Invitational Qualifier, and as such, Judges will be receiving rewards, as provided by StarCityGames.com.

TESTING

Testing opportunities for Level One are available for this event. If you are interested in testing please contact Judge Manager Seth Black at seth-black@rogers.com and apply for this event as a "Volunteer".
