Event Information
Hello everyone!
I'm happy to announce that applications are now open for the Fusion Gaming 5K at C4 Oct 30 - Nov 1 2016. Although the main event will be Saturday, there will be activities from Friday evening until side events close Sunday evening.
We're looking for experienced and inexperience judges for this event and will be considering all applications (although only certified judges with a good understanding of Competitive REL will be staffed on the main event), but compensation is geared towards local judges.
Please indicate in your application what days you are availble, which events you would prefer to work, and your t-shirt size!
Applications close Oct 16th, and staffing will be announced Oct 18th. If you need to know sooner, let me know.
Events this year are:
Friday
- Super FNM, which will be a 4 round standard tournament at casual REL.
- Underground Sea EDH, multiple elimination commander pods where the winner takes home an Underground Sea, and the coolest deck will be featured on a deck tech! Casual REL
Saturday
- Fusion 5K, a standard tournament at Comp REL, swiss followed by top-8. There will be coverage.
- 0-2 drop, single elimination standard tournament timed and priced for people who are dropping from the main event.
Sunday
- Modern 1K, a modern tournament at CompREL, swiss followed by top-8.
Side events (Regular)
- 3xBFZ infinite drafts
- 8 man win-a-box constructed, various formats (whatever is legal basically)
- 4 man commander pods
Compensation
- Saturday and Sunday: 1 box of BFZ + 40 prize tickets or 400 prize tickets per full day.
- Friday: same as above, but probably all shifts will be partial.
- partial shifts (less than a day) will receive pro-rated compensation. Exact rate TBA since it depends on scheduling.
- In addition to this, there will be a staff dinner Oct 30th at Boston Pizza (one entrée and beverage will be covered)
- Drinks and meals while working will be covered
- Staff will receive a fusion gaming uniform (which is why I need your shirt size!)
