Richmond Area Judge Celebration, Featuring The Ravnican Guild Brawl

The Richmond area has been lucky to have some excellent judges for events, and it is time to celebrate. If you've judged an event in the Richmond area, plan to in the future, or just want to party, come join us at 11 o'clock AM on Saturday, May 25 (Memorial Day Weekend) at the Time Capsule in Hopewell, Virginia to celebrate having a great community of judges. All certified judges are welcome to attend, and ten lucky judges will be selected randomly to represent their guild in The Ravnican Guild Brawl, a ten-player battle for supremacy over Ravnica.

 

Entry is free for certified judges and the event consists (until Topher runs out of product) of open Pack Wars play with Return to Ravnica or Gatecrash packs, micro-drafts with M13 (three-player single-pack drafts followed by a three-way free-for-all game), and prizes to include promotional foils of some kind (don't get too excited, I'm talking WPN foils here, not Judge Foils) plus whatever donations I can drum up. 

 

The Ravnican Guild Brawl is a sealed event using product from Ravnica: City of Guilds, Guildpact, Dissension, Return to Ravnica, Gatecrash, and Dragon's Maze (corresponding to your guild's appearances) and consists of three rounds of play—one round of duels, one round of five-player free-for-all play, and a finals match. IMPORTANT: You must preregister on Judge Apps to be entered into the drawing to play in the Ravnican Guild Brawl. (Unless I don't get enough registered players, but who doesn't want to play free Magic, right?)

 

Like any gathering of Judges, many Commander games will surely be played, so be sure to bring your most fun EDH decks!
