Grand Prix Las Vegas Mini-Conference

Judge conferences are a great way to make new friends, network, and learn valuable information to enhance the judging community. Grand Prix Las Vegas's Modern Masters event is looking to be one of the biggest events in Magic: The Gathering history, and as such it is a valuable opportunity to get together as a global community and share our collective knowledge with each other. It's great for Level 0 and Level 1 judges to increase their rules knowledge, and for Level 2+ judges connect with the community.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to the timing of this event, there will be no judge foils given to presenters or attendees. There will not be "surprise" foils either. We are currently trying to make arrangements to have pizza or some other form of dinner available as an additional incentive to increasing your presence in the judging community.

Time: Friday, June 21 from 5 pm to 7 pm. There will be half-hour seminars, with availability for 50-60 minute seminars for broader or in-depth topics.

Venue: Tim Shields has graciously let us use a portion of the GP Las Vegas venue for our conference.

Let me know if you intend to present a seminar or a workshop, and please give both a description of your presentation and your qualifications for giving it. Tim Shields (the Tournament Organizer) has requested specifically that we use this conference as a preparation for the GP Event... and as such, presentations regarding customer service, working a large event, and Modern Masters rules will be given priority.

Seminars will be teaching-style presentations and are suited for rules or IPG-type topics. Excellent seminars I have attended in the past include Power Points on layers and replacement effects.

Workshops are interactive and involve an activity such as role playing.

Deadline: Because no judge foils are being given out, there is no deadline to apply. However, please RSVP so we can have an estimate of how many people will attend each presentation.

Additional Notes: This event will be updated with scheduled presentations so you can plan accordingly. It's a small event (two hours long), and it's a wonderful way to kick off a very fun weekend.
