Grand Prix Albuquerque 2016

On behalf of Cascade Games LLC, I want to thank you for your interest in working at Grand Prix Albuquerque 2016! The dates for this event are April 15-17, 2016. Please be sure to read the entire application carefully before applying. The application window will close on Tuesday February 2, 2016.

Expectations This application covers all event needs, including judging, scorekeeping, prize wall, customer service, set-up, breakdown, VIP concierge, and registration. If you are selected for staff, you may be asked to do any or all of the following:

• Judge for part or all of a shift - including delivering rulings, answering judge calls, and participating in feedback
• Work registration for part or all of a shift - including handling cash or paperwork, or managing a line
• Scorekeep events for part or all of a shift - including live scorekeeping for side events or post-event entry
• Assist with special features, such as the Prize Wall or VIP, for part or all of a shift - including awarding prizes, helping artists, or checking in players at the VIP lounge

Each Staff member will also receive:

L1: $100 + 1 box per day

L2: $200 + 1 box per day

L3: $300 + 1 box per day

Saturday Extended Shift

In an effort to continue evolving the Grand Prix experience we are seeking out judges who would like to volunteer to work the full nine rounds of the Main Event.  This will allow us to have more stability for the judge staff, create a more consistent experience for players, and offers some of you the opportunity to make more over the course of the weekend.  If you are interested in volunteering for this, please indicate so on your application. The additional compensation for the extended Saturday shift is:

L1: +$50

L2: +$100

L3: +$200

If you have volunteered for the Saturday Extended Shift and are selected for the event you will be informed as to whether you will have the Saturday Extended Shift at the time of your selection, so that you can make an informed decision regarding your ability to join us at the event.

Status types

You may apply for one or both statuses: Confirmed or Standby.

• Confirmed means that you are confirmed to work the event. Staffing needs vary day-by-day, but Friday staffing will be posted shortly after final selections are made. To apply for Confirmed status, please select "Full Sponsorship."
• Standby means that you are not confirmed to work on any day, but that you agree to show up and be "activated" as necessary. You will be included in forum communications, and we may activate you before the event begins. If you are not activated in advance, we encourage you to show up and play.

Please apply for all status types you will accept. If you select Standby and Confirmed, we will consider you for Confirmed staff first. If you select Confirmed, but do not select Standby, we will not consider you for Standby.

Paperwork

Please note that all staff members are independent contractors and will be required to complete US tax paperwork prior to beginning their shift. 

• All Staff will be required to fill out an I-9 form and be able to present the appropriate documentation in person before they begin working.  You can find the form and the list of documents here.
• All Staff will be required to sign an Independent Contractor which can be seen here.
• US citizens and US residents must complete a W-9. 
• Non-US citizen international residents must complete a W-8BEN.

The I-9 form is only required once; however, the remaining paperwork is required for each Cascade Games Grand Prix, even if you have previously completed these forms for Cascade Games

We have a hotel block at the Double Tree by Hilton located:

At the time of writing this rooms were $99.00 a night.  Rooms are while supplies last.
