Minnesota Judge Gathering 2013

The 2013 Minnesota Judge Gathering is upon us!  It will be held Sunday, June 16th, and will run from 10am until we get tired of playing/get kicked out of Legion by Dudda (so probably caps at 8pm).

This year Legion Games has generously offered to host, so we will be playing/eating/gathering there.  The one condition Dudda set for the event is that drinks get purchased from the store.  If people want to bulk buy-in on drinks, contact me (Rob McKenzie) and we can work something out.

Some information on the event:

This is not a judge conference - it is designed as a social event with testing opportunities.  What do we plan on doing?

• Chaos Draft - We have over a hundred packs from over 40 sets - no two packs in a pod will be the same!
• EDH/Commander - Hate drafting?  That's fine.  Pick up and play Commander, we will provide somewhat silly prizes at no cost.
• Raffle - Hate playing Magic but still want to win something?  We got that too!  All attendees will be entered in a raffle for some of the swag.
• Grilled food - Like eating?  So do I.  We will be operating a grill, and will have some cold food as well - vegans and people with carb/grain issues will have options.  If you have other dietary restrictions, please let me know and we will get you covered.

There will be L1 testing opportunities.  I don't have any L3s confirmed to come to this event, but we do have a SCG Open in Minneapolis on August 3rd - if you want to test for L2 at that event please get in touch with either myself or Tasha Jamison, who will be doing L2 testing there.

This event does have some costs associated with some of its components:

• Chaos Draft - $15 per pod
• Food - $5 all you can eat
• Drinks - purchased from the store
• EDH/Commander - Free!  What, I'm gonna charge you for playing your own decks?

Note that the drafts will have (awesome) prizes, and there will be a raffle for some random swag.  EDH pods will have prizes subject to availability.  If you are super interested in this event but can't cover some/all of this or gas, please contact me (Rob McKenzie) and we can work something out.  The goal is to defray the costs of picking up crazy old packs and buying food, not crush people out of being able to attend.

An application for this event is essentially an RSVP - everyone will be accepted.  I just want to know how much food to buy/make.
