Event Information

On behalf of ChannelFireball, I want to thank you for your interest in working at Grand Prix: Paris 2016! The dates for this event are March 18th - 20th, 2016. Please be sure to read the entire application carefully before applying. The application window will close on Friday, January 29th, 2015.  We realize this is a very short window, so ask questions if there are any concerns or you are unsurre about anything below.

Expectations

This application covers administrative roles, including prize wall, customer service, registration, VIP and Artist Alley. If you are only interested in JUDGING the main event or side events, please apply to the Judge Application posted here:

http://apps.magicjudges.org/events/edit/4776/

Please note that you may apply to both applications, though you will only be selected through one.  If you are selected for judge staff, you may still be asked to do take on administrative roles if needed.  If selected for a judging role, you may be asked to do any of the following:

Work on one of the Main Event Teams (paper, floor, deck check, logistics)

Judge Scheduled Side Events

Judge On Demand Events

You may send any questions regarding the above information specifically or your application in general to judge@channelfireball.com or mashi@channelfireball.com.

If you are selected for staff, please check the forum periodically for important news.

Tangible Benefits For You
All staff members will receive a Grand Prix: Paris JUDGE playmat in addition to the following:

L1: €90 + 1 box per day

L2: €180 + 1 box per day

L3: €270 + 1 box per day

Thursday Set up shift

We will need some staff on Thursday to help with set up of the site.  Those chosen will receive the following.  this rate of pay is ‘flat’ and applies to all regardless of certification level.

•€90 + 2 boxes per day

Friday Late Set up shift

We will also need some staff to assist with setting up portions of the main event late Friday night starting at midnight.  We have not calculated comp for this yet, but this is another shift to be available for.

Saturday Extended Shift

In an effort to continue evolving the Grand Prix experience we are seeking out staff who would like to volunteer to work shifts that will last as long as the full nine rounds of the Main Event.  For admin, this is somewaht unlikely. but still possible based on scheduling.  This will allow us to have more stability for the judge staff, create a more consistent experience for players, and offers some of you the opportunity to make more over the course of the weekend.  If you are interested in volunteering for this, please indicate so on your application. The additional compensation for the extended Saturday shift is:

L2: +1 boxes

L3: +2 boxes

If you have volunteered for the Saturday Extended Shift and are selected for the event you will be informed as to whether you will have the Saturday Extended Shift at the time of your selection, so that you can make an informed decision regarding your ability to join us at the event.

Status types
You may apply for one or both statuses: Confirmed or Standby.

Confirmed means that you are confirmed to work the event. Staffing needs vary day-by-day, but Friday staffing will be posted shortly after final selections are made. To apply for Confirmed status, please select "Full Sponsorship."

Standby means that you are not confirmed to work on any day, but that you agree to show up and be "activated" as necessary. You will be included in forum communications, and we may activate you before the event begins. If you are not activated in advance, we encourage you to show up and play.

Please apply for all status types you will accept. If you select Standby and Confirmed, we will consider you for Confirmed staff first. If you select Confirmed, but do not select Standby, we will not consider you for Standby.

Paperwork
Please note that all staff members are independent contractors and will be required to complete appropriate prior to beginning their shift.  We will be working with Tournament Center regarding appropriate paperwork and compensation. Some paperwork will need to be filled out prior to the event or on site.  Additional information on this will be posted as we receive it.
