GP: Charleston

Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but heres a GP, apply for it maybe.

On behalf of Jeff Williams and Phoenix Games, I wish to announce the call to arms for Grand Prix: Charleston! The Grand Prix festivities will start on Friday, Nov 16th with Last Chance Trials, and continuing into Saturday and Sunday with the Main Event.  The format is Standard.

Applying for the Grand Prix

Judges interested in applying for Grand Prix: Charleston should do so through apps.magicjudges.org by submitting a cover letter. In your cover letter, you must include the following:

Shirt Size:
Sponsorship type: Hotel or Volunteer, and if your application is dependent on hotel sponsorship  (if not specified, it will be assumed to be independent).
Days you are available to work (Friday/Saturday/Sunday):
Nights you are requesting hotel sponsorship for (Friday/Saturday/Sunday):
Primary Phone Number:
A brief summary of recent Competitive REL events your have worked and/or any Legacy experience. (legacy?  what?  Just seeing if you were paying attention)

 The deadline for applications is Aug 31st, 2012.  Late Applications will not be considered.

Hotel Accommodations

A limited number of Room sponsorships are available for this event at the venue hotel. Judges will be lodged *three* per room. Each room has 2 Beds and 1 pull out sofabed.  If you wish to share a room with a specific judge, please specify that in your application cover letter.

Food

Judges will receive a $20 meal stipend for each full day worked. 

Compensation

Local and area judges (Levels 1 and 2) for this event will receive a base compensation of 36 packs of the most recent Magic set as of the GP for each day they volunteer. Regional judges or higher (Levels 3 and higher) participating at the event will receive base compensation of 54 packs per day.  There is no compensation taken out for judges receiving hotel sponsorship.

Judge Foils

All certified judges volunteering for at least two days will receive a selection of DCI foils as a 'Thank You' from Wizards of the Coast.

Judge Certification

 There will be opportunities for L1 and L2 testing at this event. If you are interested in testing for these levels, please contact Bryan Prillaman (bprill.MTG@gmail.com) in advance of the GP.  You do not need to be staffed at the event to have testing available.
