Event Information

Hello and thank you for your interest in our event!

The first and most important thing to know is that since this event will be free and not have any prizing, the judges will also be providing their services for free. The hope is that the lack of an entry fee will encourage many players who otherwise would normally not have participated to take part while at the same time giving the community another PPTQ and valuable competitive experience for our judges.

I am expecting a rather large turnout for the event with maximum capacity in the high 40's. The event will also be run over three floors requiring a larger than normal judge staff. Luckily I'm sure you are all up to the task and I am expecting a well run professional event!

 Staffing/Positions:

Because I can't be everywhere at once I'm going to be looking for two experienced judges to be acting as my captains. Both will have the power to take appeals and will be responsible for their respective floors.

For my captains I'm looking for:

Leadership Skills

Strong Verbal Communication Skills

And most importantly total confidence in taking calls at competitive REL.

For my floor judges:

A willingness to learn

an understanding of competitive REL and how it differs from regular REL.

the ability to work under pressure

 Expectation:

This is a great opportunity for the Manitoba judge community and I will be supporting everyone interested with extra training leading up to the PPTQ.

The dress code will be strictly following the one laid out for competitive events meaning, black socks, shoes, pants, belt and dress shirt. If you have any concerns about this please feel free to contact me.

The event will be starting at 12 noon and everyone should be there for 11am to help set up and prepare.

Applications:

In everyones application I need the following information:

Experience: What experience do you have? A focus on competitive experience is appreciated.

Goals: What are your goals for the event? Both personal and community based if you want. (we will be going over these in your post event interview)

Contact Info: Email and cell # are both appreciated!

For anyone applying for a captain position please state this and include a brief piece on why you would be the best fit the position.

If you have any questions or concerns, I can be reached at chrichishen@gmail.com or via judge apps!

I look forward to working with all of you and thank you again for your interest!
