GP Minneapolis (Admin)

Welcome to Grand Prix: Minneapolis 2016!

On behalf of Pastimes Games, thank you for your interest in making GP Minneapolis one of the best events of the year. We are looking for friendly, knowledgeable, professional individuals with a goal of providing exceptional guest service through the entire Grand Prix experience. This application window will close on March 25th. 

Expectations

This application covers administrative roles, including Set-up, Registration, Information Desk, Prize Wall, V.I.P. or Tear Down . If you are only interested in JUDING roles , please apply through the JUDGING application found here http://apps.magicjudges.org/events/5100/ .

All staff members are expected to perform in a professional manner that reflects positive on the rest of the event staff, the Tournament Organizer, Wizards of the Coast and the Judge Program.  We desire team members that seek to promote a fun, exciting environment for everyone to enjoy.  

Administration staff will be provided with a Pastimes Staff shirt.

Acceptance Procedures

We will be accepting staff members shortly after the application deadline, with most staff receiving two days on the schedule (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday).  If you absolutely need to be scheduled all three days to be on staff for this event, please note that in your application.

Compensation

Every staff member will receive:

A customized GP Minneapolis Playmat

A Pastimes Water Bottle

A commemorative lanyard so you can remember your time with us (and so others can remember your name)

Compensation based on postion is as follows per day staffed:

Registration - $125 + 1 Box

Info Desk - $125 + 1 Box

VIP - $125 + 1 Box

Prize Wall - $150 + 1 Box

Special Ops - $150 + 1 Box

Side Scorekeeper - $200 + 1 Box

Thursday Set Up:

We will need some judge staff on Thursday to assist with product preparation for the main event, set up of some banners and graphics and other miscellaneous set up.

Compensation for Thursday is not based on certification level or position.  Anyone selected to help out on Thursday will receive $100 and 2 additional boxes of product.

This shift would start at 10 AM on Thursday and will go until 8 PM or later.

Sunday Strike:

Just as we need some help with set up on Thursday, we need a small crew to assist on Sunday night with striking some equipment.  This shift would start at 3 PM on Sunday and could go until Midnight or later.  If you are selected for this, you would not be on admin staff on Sunday.

Compensation for the Sunday strike crew would be $200 and 1 box of product.

This work is physical in nature, and you would need to be able to lift and move large and heavy items for much of the time on this shift.

Fun!

Friday Night
Pizza and draft!  This special event will include, well, pizza and a draft!  For judges and staff who are taking care of the customers - we will make sure you get pizza AND two draft sets!  This event will happen in the Event Hall at 9 PM.

Sunday Night
If you can stick around, there will be a gathering at 9 PM to celebrate an amazing weekend! Location TBD.  Games, snacks and more!

Hotels and Lodging

Details on the event hotel block and pricing will be made available shortly.  Please note that we are not providing lodging for this event, but will provide information so you can take advantage of GP room block pricing should you so choose.
