All events are Competitive REL. 

Positions Available

  • Two Level 0 or level 1 Apprentice Judges for each day ( these positions are to introduce/reinforce Comp REL ) 

 

COMPENSATION 

Total compensation is based on attendance. 20% of the main event entry fees will be added into the compensation pool and then is divided according to how many comp units are needed. 

  • All compensation is given in store credit. Lunch and beverages will also be provided. 
  • Head Judge will recieve 2 Comp Unit
  • Floor Judge will recieve 1 Comp Unit
  • Apprentice judges will be given a 1/2 Compensation Unit.

EXPECTATIONS

Judges at the StarCityGames.com Spring State Championships are expected to prepare for each event by reviewing the Comprehensive Rules, Magic Tournament Rules and Infraction Procedure Guide documents. As representatives of Ready to Play Games, StarCityGames.com and the Magic Judge Program, Judges are expected to behave in a professional manner at all times. This includes arriving on time and in appropriate attire. Dress for this event is all black, including a black Magic Judge shirt (the Carolina/South East Magic Judge shirt is acceptable). A plain black button down shirt is acceptable if you don't have a Magic Judge shirt along with black pants, shoes and belt. 

Judges are expected to arrive no later than 9:30 am on Saturday and 9:30 am on Sunday and are expected to stay until the conclusion of the Swiss rounds. If you anticipate being unable to arrive by the call time or needing to leave before 8:00 pm, you must include that information in your application.
