Event Information

Grand Prix Rimini will be held August 12-14, 2016. The format is Standard.

Event Information

Applications are accepted through April 20, so you could expect to receive an answer after a short time from your request. Beware that planning your travel would be critical for this Grand Prix, being Rimini one of the most important Italian tourist centers, so we strongly suggest you to start looking for rooms, taking advantage of the cancellation policies of most online booking services (in case you’re not accepted or have problems to attend after your acceptance).

Applications and Shifts

You may apply for Saturday and Sunday, availability for Friday is a separate question but you won't be guaranteed to work for Friday. Shifts will be determined and communicated shortly after acceptance of applications. Particular requests could be presented and would be taken into account, but a change in the schedule is not guaranteed to be possible.

Your chances to be accepted are higher if you are flexible regarding timing and shifts, if you speak fluent English and are experienced in tournament environment. If you can speak other languages, especially italian, please indicate that in your application, this would be a plus but is by no means a requirement.

L3+ will have a room offered by the TO from Friday to Monday as part of your compensation. L3s who want to use the room offered by the TO have to choose the "room sponsorship" option. Otherwise, if you don't need a room or you aren't L3,  check the "volunteer" box.

Expectations

You are expected to perform your duties in a professional manner. We expect you to have fun, be professional and contribute to a great atmosphere for players and every other member of the staff.

In addition to making rulings, we might ask you to assist with event logistics, such as running info points, pushing chairs and tables, handing out prizes.

Please bring appropriate judging attire, including a black judge shirt and black trousers with belt. After acceptance, will post indications to get a judge shirt if you don't have one.

We aim to provide attendants to this Grand Prix an excellent experience, hence we will produce and provide every judges with a FAQ document, containing all the pieces of information on which you will be required to relate. We will also include in this document a few fundamental hints concerning security and customer service.

Standby judges

15 Judges will be selected as Standby.

In that case, you will be expected to come to the event, with about half of the selected Standby also required for Friday.

If selected as a Standby, you will be allowed to play the main event for free (on Friday, you will be allowed to play in any on demand constructed events, including GP Trials, and up to five on demand unlimited events), but, if attendance is higher than expected, you will be enrolled on site to judge the main event or side events and will instead receive the normal compensation for your level.

If we enroll you to judge on Saturday but we unfortunately don't need you on Sunday, you will have the opportunity to play for free the Super Sunday Series event and up to five on demand side events on Sunday.

Compensation

Compensation depends on your level and the amount of days you work. Compensation is given in English product of the current set at that time (which will be Eldritch Moon) and in cash (you will be required to sign a contract and, if you are not Italian, to pay taxes and contributions by yourself, according to your country’s regulations). Please make sure have sufficient space to take your product with you and to be authorized to work in Italy before applying!

Compensation rates* are as follows:

  L2: 1.5 box + €75 per day (English only)

L3: 2.5 box + €125 per day (English only) + room from Friday to Monday

All working Judges will also receive

    - one of the goodie package designed for GP Rimini in limited numbers

    - a free-entry coupon for any one of the constructed 8-players events held during the weekend

This means that a L2 working Saturday and Sunday will receive:

3 Boxes, €150, a goodie package, and a free-entry coupon to a constructed 8-players event

Good Luck everybody!
