Event Information
Hi there, and thanks for your interest in the Magic Madhouse Pro Series. This time, we're headed to Manchester on June 4th. The Head Judge is Jack Doyle.
Staff
We're looking for four (4) floor judges, two (2) scorekeepers, and four (4) standby judges. Please note -- standby judges should attend the event, even if they believe they will not be activated. Standby judges should be intending to play, but not mind if they are activated. Please bear this in mind when selecting your sponsorship options.
The breakdown of floor staff will be as follows:
- Two scorekeepers. (experience with DCI Reporter is strongly preferred)
- Two L2 judges.
- One L1 judge.
- One additional L1 or L2 judge.
The breakdown of standby staff will be as follows:
- One L2 judge as standby.
- Three L1 judges as standby.
Compensation
Compensation will be handled in compensation units (CUs). Each CU is equivalent to £75 in store credit, or one current-set booster display.
- Scorekeeper - 2.5 CUs
- Level 2 - 2.5 CUs
- Level 1 - 1.5 CUs
- Standby - Free event entry (unless activated)
Working hours & sponsorship options
You'll notice there are two sponsorship options you can apply for at this event.
Selected volunteer judges will be expected to arrive at 8:30am and commit to working until at least the end of the Swiss portion of the event. They will be paid according to the compensation section above.
Selected standby judges are committing to play the event (for free), unless they are activated. We will endeavour to be on top of pre-registration numbers to provide you with this information as soon as we can. If activated, you will be treated as a volunteer judge as defined above.
Judge Certification
Judge testing for Level 1 and Level 2 is available, by prior arrangement.
Anyone wishing to test for Level 1 must meet the following criteria:
- Complete the pre-test requirements listed on the [O] Blog.
Judges who wish to be considered for testing for Level 2 must meet the following criteria:
- Complete the pre-test requirements listed on the [O] Blog.
- Take a Level 2 Practice Exam and e-mail the exam ID and score to scryus@gmail.com.

In order to give everyone ample time to arrange travel and accommodation, we will aim to publish the staff a month before the event. Therefore, applications will be accepted until April 30th.
