Event Information

I am looking for two (2) standby judges for the WMCQ to be held in Gamer's Emporium, to be activated at 30 and 50 players respectively. Applicants will be expected to be conversant in the current IPG and MTR and will ideally be qualified to play in the event if not activated. This requires a yearly PWP tally of 100+ and to be registered to play for the Welsh World Magic Cup team. You can check these details on the Wizards of the Coast website. Judges will need to be available from 10am until the end of the Swiss portion of the event.

Activated judges will be compensated with one (1) booster display box of a recent set (likely, Shadows over Innistrad though I am sure the TO will be happy to discuss alternatives). If not activated, then you will be able to play in the event for free.

Judges will be required to wear the usual judge attire of black shirt, black trousers or skirt, black socks or tights and black shoes. If this presents an issue then I encourage you to contact me at the earliest opportunity to discuss.

Unfortunately, I am unable to offer transport from South Wales on this occasion as I will be travelling directly from vacation. However, I am able to offer transport from North or West Wales if arranged in advance. Please mention this in your application if required.

If judging both this event and the PPTQ/LCQ the day before is necessary to justify your application then please speak to both Sophie and I as soon as possible.

Please write a meaningful cover letter in your application as this will be the primary method of selection.
