Grand Prix Toronto 2013

Grand Prix Toronto will be held Friday November 29 (Grinders and Side Events) plus the main event on Saturday/Sunday November 30/December 1st. The Head Judge for the event will be Scott Marshall.

Organizers expect an excellent turnout for a Theros Sealed Deck Grand Prix with attendance estimates at 1100 to 1300 players. We estimate needing about 35-40 judges for this event.

The application window will close on Friday, October 4th. We are giving you lots of lead time to plan your travel. Staff selections will be announced by Tuesday, October 8th.

A limited number of staff will be needed for Last Chance Trials and Public events on Friday.. Please note in your application if you are available to work on Friday.

Judging a Grand Prix can be very rewarding opportunity as a judge. It is an excellent opportunity to learn from your fellow judges, teach your fellow judges, and network with people who share a love of this great game. It is a lot of fun, but it's also a lot of work.

If there is a specific experience you would like to get out of judging at this Grand Prix, please note that in your application. We will try to accommodate as best we can. 



Foils - Wizards of the Coast will provide a selection of DCI foils to all certified judges.

Playmats - Regular event playmats will be given to all sponsored judges. Art can't be disclosed yet due to NDA. When it's public information, we'll update the website.

Product - Organizers will also provide judges with at least one display box of sealed Theros product for each day worked. Level 3+ judges will receive an additional half box per day worked. 

Shirts - Judge shirts will available to certified judges on staff who need them.

 If you have sizing needs beyond S, M, L, or XL please mention this in your application. If you don't mention that you need a shirt, I can't provide one! =(



Food - A modest food stipend will be provided for sponsored judges. 

Room sponsorship - Limited room sponsorship is available. If you are selected for room sponsorship, your hotel room will be covered for two nights: [Friday + Saturday] or [Saturday + Sunday]. You will be sharing your room with at least one judge of the same gender. If you and your significant judge-other would like to share a room, we would like to accommodate you. Please note an special room needs in your application. L3+ judges will receive an additional day of accommodations.
