Event Information
Face to Face Games is proud host the Toronto World Magic Cup Qualifier (WMCQ) on Saturday Sept 17th.
Full event listing can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1717596011855588/ and here: https://www.facebook.com/events/993105004100140/
In addition to the WMCQ we are making it a full weekend of magic with a FacetoFaceGames.com Open on the Sunday. This awesome event features $5000 in main event prizes, commander pods, side drafts, and win-a-box events. We are expecting 400+ players on Saturday, 200+ on Sunday.
On Saturday judges will be expected to be on site, ready to work at 9:00 AM to assist with setup, and will be expected to stay until at least the end of the Swiss rounds. We expect the swiss to end by 8:30pm, but be prepared to be there until 10:00pm. On Sunday Judges are expected to arrive at 9:00 am, with the swiss ending around 7:00pm.
We're looking for judges of all levels. Judges staffed for this event will be working at Competitive REL and applying the IPG, all while being friendly and customer service focused.
If you're not as experienced with those things, please apply as a volunteer, and we will be happy to assign you a mentor to help you grow within the judge program. Applying as a volunteer will increase your chances of being accepted.
All staff (including volunteers) for this event will provided with lunch.
Judges staffed as volunteers will receive their choice of either $50 cash or $75 in store credit from Face to Face Games.
Judges staffed as full sponsorship will receive their choice of either $120 cash or $160 in store credit from Face to Face Games for a single day. Judges who are accepted to work both days will recieve $280 cash or $350 credit.
Please fill out all questions in the application. If you are interested in head judging a Saturday side event (PPTQ, Open Trials, GPTs, Showdown) you must make this clear in your application.
We are also looking for two standby judges for each day. If you wish to apply to be a standby judge, please select the appropriate box in your application. Judges staffed as standby will be able to play in the main event for free if they are not needed to judge. If attendance exceeds our expectations the standby judges will be activated to staff and will be compensated as a full sponsorship judge.
The application deadline is Monday August 29th, and staffing will be announced by the next day, Tuesday August 30th.
