Mid-Atlantic Winter Judge Conference

Welcome

In cooperation with Level Up Games and the Mid-Atlanic Regional Leadership, we are pleased to announce the Mid-Atlantic Regional Winter Judge Conference onDecember 17thth, 2016. This event will be held at Level Up Games' Knoxville, TN, location.

Judge conferences are the continuing education component of the Judge Program. They are a great way for judges of all levels of experience to come together, meet new and old friends, and share their collective experience and knowledge. If you want to learn, teach, or do a bit of both in a fun environment surrounded by judges, this is the place to be.

Judge conferences are open for everyone, regardless of judge level, experience or location. If you are an L3 visiting from Australia or a uncertified Judge Candidate hoping to learn more on your first steps into the program, you are more than welcome to share in the experience.

Please make sure to register for the event so that we can have a somewhat accurate headcount for planning purposes.

Scheduling

The Judge Conference start time is 12:45, ending around 7pm, followed by a group Judge Dinner. With the proximity to the holidays, we may offer a gift exchange at the dinner.

Presentations

Presentations make a conference, and with a large amount of things to discuss and limited space and time, we want to make sure we are talking about things people want to hear about, by people who want to talk about them. For this conference, we would like to have a focus on the "hard-skills" to judging. If possible, most presentations will have a practical component along with the theory.

In order for some to learn, some must teach. We are looking for a number of presenters. If you have a topic you feel you want to discuss, or just want to teach others, please email Matt Karr at the email above or CJ Crooks at CJCrooks@Live.com with your presentation topic.

Foil Support

Wizards of the Coast and the Judge Program are rewarding certified judges at this conference with a selection of judge foils. The number of foils given to each attendee will  be based on the number of seminars attended, and the completion of an exit survey. Only those registered and certified by October 23nd will be eligible for foil support. There are no exceptions to this policy.
