Denver Judge Conference

Overview

In conjunction with I Want More Comics, Advantage Games, and the Northwest Judge Region, we are pleased to announce the Denver Judge Conference to take place on December 5th, 2016.

This is a great way for you to continue your judge education, to make new friends, hang out with old friends, and to share our collective experience and knowledge. If you want to learn (and possibly teach) in a fun environment surrounded by judges, this is the place to be!

This event is open for everyone, regardless of judge level, experience or location. If you are an L3 visiting from Australia or a uncertified Judge Candidate hoping to learn more on your first steps into the program, we welcome you. (Read below for information about foil support!)

Please make sure to register for the event so that we can have an accurate headcount for planning purposes.

There will be a Grand Prix in Denver from December 2-December 4, 2016, run by Cascade Games. If you are interested in applying to that event as well, you can find the application here.

Presentations

Presentations make a conference. With a large amount of things to discuss and limited space and time, we want to make sure we are talking about things people want to hear about, by people who want to talk about them. For this conference, we would like to have a focus on "New, Unique Judge Challenges for 2017"

If possible, most presentations will have a practical component along with the theory.

Let us know any specific topics you'd like to learn more about (even if they don't fit in with the above theme)

Foil Support

Wizards of the Coast and the Judge Program are rewarding certified judges at this conference with a selection of judge foils. The number of foils given to each attendee will be based on the number of seminars attended, and the completion of an exit survey. Only those registered and certified by the entry deadline (7 Nov 2016) will be eligible for foil support. There are no exceptions to this policy.

Location

Note that the location for this conference includes two game stores, within 100 feet of each other. You will need to arrange transportation from the Grand Prix venue (taxi, Uber, Lyft); Taxi Fare Finder estimates $51, UberX $18-25, Lyft $23.84; we will try to assist with ride share planning.
