Event Information
Thank you for your interest in running Rooks Comics and Games' Sealed Competitive GPT.
Rooks is looking for one judge to act as Head Judge for the event. This is a good opportunity for judges looking for more experience judging at competitive REL, or practicing the unique challenges or working a sealed event.
Don't worry if you haven't worked a sealed event before -- we will walk through the differences between running a sealed and a constructed event before the day of, to make sure you are familiar with the additional steps required. It's not as bad as it sounds -- usually. :)
Expectations: Applicants should be able to arrive on time, in full black uniform (no jeans), and run the event. Besides answering rules questions, this may include performing deck checks, watching games being played for possible infractions, entering results, and posting pairings/standings.
Applicants should be familiar with the IPG and general tournament operations.
Rooks expects around 12-15 players, which means five rounds, followed by a top 4.
Compensation will be $4 per player. Judges will be able to spend this credit on items at the price Rooks pays, without their markup, which makes it closer to ~$7 per player, depending on the exact items desired.
If you have any questions, please contact Brook Gardner-Durbin on Facebook or at brookgd@gmail.com.
