Introduction

Hi folks, and thanks for your interest in the last 2016 RPTQ, hosted by Axion Now. This is one of the pinnacles of the new Magic calendar, and Axion Now are looking for an experienced judge staff to help make it run. All these events will be held onsite at the Holiday Inn in Birmingham City Centre.

On Sunday, there will be the main RPTQ event plus a Mega GPT (GP location tbd).

In addition there will be on-demand drafts and a Rebound event.

We are looking for the following staff, Level 1 and higher: UPDATED

6 Floor Judges and 3 Standby Judges.

Expected turnout is between 150-200 players for the GPT and 80 players for the RPTQ. The format for the RPTQ will be Modern. The format for the Mega GPT will be Modern. Both events will start at 11am. UPDATED

The Head Judge for the RPTQ will be David Lyford Smith (Level 3).

The Head Judge for the Mega GPT will be Oli Bird (Level 3).

The Scorekeeper for both events will be Jack Doyle (Level 3)

The Judge Manager will be Ray Fong (Level 3).

Compensation

The base compensation for judges at this event will be one booster display (36 packs) of Kaladesh plus lunch per day worked. If we reach 180 players for the GPT, additional compensation will be awarded to reflect the extra effort required by the judge team. This is regardless of RPTQ turnout and which event judges have been assigned to. UPDATED

Standby judges will earn the same compensation as floor judges if activated. Otherwise they will have one free entry into any event of their choice.

Call Times

The call time for judges will be 9am. If you are planning to arrive by train on Sunday, please indicate on your application your estimated arrival time (as no major train arrives in Birmingham before 10am on Sunday). This allows us to plan the morning setup better and will have no bearing on your likeihood to be accepted/rejected. UPDATED

Applications for this event will close at noon on November 18th, shortly after which a staff will be selected. If you need to be informed of your application status before this date, please include that in your cover letter.
