Hairy Tarantula PTQ

The Hairy Tarantula Downtown is looking for a large number of judges for our sealed PTQ!  All hands on deck!

We are looking for the following:

1 scorekeeper (full comp+)

14 floor judges (full comp)

5 volunteer judges (1/3 comp)

Although this seems like an insane amount of judges for a PTQ, we are preparing for 450 players in the main event, the event is sealed deck, we are also running 3 major side event GPT for GP Toronto which is only 3 weeks after the event, we are running regular REL side events and we will need to run breaks and all that stuff too.

Judges will be working in shifts:  Some judges will work the "Alpha shift" 7:30am - 7:30pm.  Other will work the "Beta shift" 9:00am - 9:00pm (or the end of swiss, whichever is later)  and a small number will work the "Unlimited shift" 11:00am-12midnight.  Please indicate which shift you would rather work on your application.  Note this is only a request.  We will do our best, but no guarantees.

If you are interested in scorekeeping, please provide references for your scorekeeping at past events.

If you are interested in head judging on of the GPTs (Modern, Sealed or Standard) please indicate that in your application.  Note that you will be required to stay until the end of top 8 of your event and you should request the "Beta shift" or the "Unlimited shift" on your application.

If you are interested in teamleading for the main event, please indicate that on your application.

If you are interested in testing for L1 or L2 at this event?  Please provide details.

Regular comp will be 1 box of a current set, $120 in judge foils, $110 in singles, $100 in Hairy T store credit, 7 packs of Modern Master or $80 cash.  Volunteer judges will receive 1/3 of one of the above options.

All judges will receive the exclusive Hairy Tarantula Theros Playmat.

There will be a special judge Commander night on Monday, November 11th for any judges for whomever can make it!  There will be some fun prizes and free drinks and snacks for all who can make it.

Food will be provided by Kelly and his crazy kitchen!  Leave requests for food ideas or special dietary needs in your application.

Room sponsorship should be checked if you need help finding a bed to sleep in either Friday or Saturday night.

Travel sponsorship should be checked if you need help finding a ride.

Volunteer sponsorship should be checked if you are a newer judge who probably doesn't have the experience required to sign on as a full judge.  Volunteers will be more likely to be selected that full sponsorship judges.
