Event Information
The fourth annual Hunter Burton Memorial Magic Open should attract as many or more than the 245 that played last year. We are currently looking forward to a staff of ten or eleven.
We are playing Standard for the Swiss rounds. The top eight will then play a Modern Masters 2017 booster draft. Registration starts at 8:00am and play begins at 9:00am. I'd like to have all judges checked in by 8:30 am if possible. Please wear your black judge shirts if you have them, with black trousers. If you do not have a black judge shirt, please try to wear all black, a shirt with a collar would be preferable to a t-shirt.
This event is also a Star City Games IQ and will be run at Competitive REL.
Compensation for floor judges will include $100 cash for level ones and $200 for level twos and above. In addition, each judge will receive $40 for lunch/parking. Judges will also receive various promotional items associated with the event including, but not limited to the Hunter Burton Memorial six-sided die, a lanyard, a pen, a commemorative t-shirt and of course poker chips. Only 30 dice were created this year. They are being given to a limited number of VIPs along with each of the top eight finishers and each member of the judge staff.
