Welcome to the USA-South Spring 2017 Judge Conference!
The Judge Conference is open to everyone regardless of Judge Level or location. However, if you plan to attend, please apply here so that we will have an accurate headcount. This conference will have an attendance charge of $15 and includes lunch.

| Disqualifications: All the Info We Hope to Never Need | All aspects of DQs, with a specific emphasis on handling tough interactions with players and TOs. The discussion will feature a number of real-world examples (because Mike just can't stop telling stories) and will provide attendees with background needed to help them confidently handle situations on their own. |
| A Review On Reviews | Why reviews are important and why we do them in the judge community. Don't know how to put one in on judge apps? We'll walk through one! Be prepared to think critically of not only other judges but yourself as well. |
| Judging At Regular | Magic is hard. Judging at Regular can be a rewarding experience for both you and your players, here we'll go over the aspects of not only the JAR but also ways to interact with your players and the issues that may crop up at Regular. |
| The History of the Missed Trigger | Explore what Missed Trigger is now, and how that came to be. Twenty years of policy changes have crafted its current text, learn how we got here and why. |
| Judge Calls | Taking judge calls for new and aspiring judges. We will cover actions and habits you can adopt that will make every call you take more successful and leave players feeling good about their experiences. |
| Leadership | A comparison between Leaders, Managers and Coordinators. We will also go into different styles of leadership and discuss different approaches to some common scenarios. Emphasis on the ability to delegate tasks but not accountability for said task. |
| Fun With Replacement Effects! | An in-depth look at the comprehensive rules for replacement effects. It examines identification, modification, and application of replacement effects with fun and humor. |
| Oops: A Treatise on Backups and Partial Fixes. | The gamestate is broken? Now what? Do we Backup and try to fix it, or do we try to mend it without too much disruption? There might even be situations where we do nothing at all! In this seminar you will learn when it is appropriate to perform a Backup, How to perform a Backup should it be needed, and when we can just fix the problem at hand without Backing up. You will also learn key situations that account for partial fixes of the game state. |

In order to receive foils for attending, you must be a certified Judge and register on or before May 1, 2017.
