Event Info
Hello, judges!
The Comic Book Depot of Wantagh, NY is proud to be working with the Cradle of Aviation Museum to put on a fantastic event on Sunday, April 30th: Clash at the Cradle! There will be two main Competitive REL events: A Modern Constructed Eternal Extravaganza Satellite Series (EESS) Gold event, and an (unsanctioned) Vintage event that's both an EESS Gold event and a New York Stax Exchange qualifier. In addition, we will also be running side events that we will also need judges for!
Your Modern Head Judge will be Matt Cooper. Your Vintage Head Judge will be Mani Cavalieri.
Compensation
Compensation for Floor Judges will be $120. Lunch will be provided.
There are two application types: Full Sponsorship and Standby. Standby judges, if accepted, are expected to be at the venue as floor staff would and ready to be activated if necessary. If not activated, Standby judges will receive free entry into their event of choice.
Event Expectations
Judges at Comic Book Depot events are expected to prepare for each event by reviewing the Comprehensive Rules, Magic Tournament Rules, Infraction Procedure Guide, and Judging at Regular REL documents. As representatives of The Comic Book Depot, the Cradle of Aviation, and the Magic Judge Program, judges are expected to behave in a professional manner at all times.
Judges are expected to arrive on time for the start of their shift. This event will begin at 10:00 AM. This means that call time will be 9:00 AM. This will give us plenty of time to make last minute corrections to the venue, as well as register players. Also, if you anticipate being unable to arrive by 9:00 am, please make note of that in your application. Judges will be expected to stay through the quarterfinals of their assigned event.
Judges should be in standard Magic Judge Program attire of appropriate Magic Judge shirt, black pants or skirt, black belt, and comfortable black shoes. "Appropriate shirt" can either be an official GP black shirt (preferred if available), a regional polo, or a plain black button-down shirt. During breaks, or any other time that a judge is off duty, judges should remove, or cover, their Judge shirt.
The application window for this event will close at 11:59pm on Thursdayy, April 13th, 2017. If you have any questions, please contact Matt Cooper at mattcooper1293@gmail.com.
