2017 Eastern Washington Judge Conference

Hello everyone!   It is my pleasure to invite you all to our region's next Judge Conference! This conference will be held on Saturday, May 6th at Beta TCG Gaming Center in Richland, Washington.

The organizers of this event are Chris Schafer, Brad Rutherford, and Jeff S Higgins.  Please email any of us if you have any questions!

Registration

All certified judges are welcome to register for this conference by applying to this JudgeApps event.  The deadline for registration is April 30th. Certified judges who have registered by this date and attend a seminar during each time slot will receive a package of foils.  If you are not a certified judge or you wish to join us after the registration deadline has passed, you are welcome to attend seminars but you will not recieve any foils.

A useful skill for a judge is being able to write a good cover letter.  Please do yourself the favor to take the time and write a serious cover letter (tell us things like why you'd like to attend, what you could potentially contribute and any goals you may have for the conference).

Schedule and Presentations

We'll get together at noon on Saturday to have a pizza party (pizza provided! woo pizza!) and socialize.  We plan to start the seminars promptly at noon and will finish around 6pm.  If you are interested in presenting at this conference, please email Chris Schafer with your presentation topic, a short summary (including your target audience), and any materials you may need to present, if you haven't presented before we would like to see the seminar before we arrive at the conference.  There will be 5 or 6 presentations.  Each presentation should be about 40 minutes long.  A schedule of topics will be posted prior to the seminar.

Testing

Are you a L0 looking to test for L1?  Or maybe L1 testing for L2?  Come to the conference and we are happy to test you!  Please contact Chris Schafer via email to coordinate your testing.  Please note: L0s testing at this conference are not eligible to receive foils, even if you pass your test.

Fun stuff

After the conference, let's all hang out!  Dinner will be on our own but we can coordinate some sort of delivery and eat together, if there is interest.  Beta TCG is hosting us... FOR FREE!!! This is super awesome, so maybe buy some singles or packs or sodas.  Store owners like Zech Maples are the reason we can hold these conferences and if you want them to continue, well, show some love with your wallet.
