Event Information
Southeastern Minnesota Judge Mini Conference
On Saturday, June 10th, the Southeastern Minnesota Judge Mini Conference will take place at River Quest Games in Winona. The conference will be from 12-6, and will feature State of the Region and State of Area addresses, as well as 2 presentations and 2 workshops. This will be a great opportunity to connect with nearby judges, as well as gain skills to grow as a judge.
The full schedule of presentations and workshops will be released when it's finalized, likely a week or two after applications close.
The conference will be foil supported, though foils may be limited- if we surpass our alottment, priority will be judges in the area and other areas with less access to conferences. Let us know in your application if you are outside the area (SE MN/ S Central MN/ the SW corner of Wisconsin/ NE Iowa) and would require promos to be able to attend. Only certified judges will be able to recieve promos, but we encourage anyone who is interested to apply.
Presenting:
If you would like to present at the conference, let us know. You don't have to be an expert to do a presentation; the research required for it will generally make you one! Some topics we would like to potentially see presentations/ workshops on would be: triggers, investigations, the JAR, the MTR, and on how to use the resources to find answers on the fly. That being said, if you have an idea for a presentation/ workshop not listed here, be sure to mention it in your application.
And, last but not least:
Thank you for your dedication to the judge program!
Seriously. I can not say how much it means that you're thinking about going out, taking a Saturday, and just learning how to be an even better ambassador for this game. A judge conference is an investment in your skills as a judge, skills that can make a tangible difference in a player's day. So again, thank you.
If you have any questions or comments, you can either put them in your cover letter, or you can message John Arachtingi directly, through judge apps.
