Event Information
Greetings Judges!!
Welcome to the ConnectiCon 2017 application page. ConnectiCon is a 3-day multi-genre convention that is held in Hartford, CT. If you are curious about the convention, please go to https://www.facebook.com/events/1357512097655022/ and http://connecticon.org. We're looking to bring on some great people who are interested in having fun and ensuring that the convention attendees have a great experience.
ConnectiCon's Magic events for 2017 will be held from July 7-9, 2017.
The Head Judge for the weekend's events is Tom Davis, L2 from Seattle, WA.
Events:
Unlike last year's convention, we will be hosting a Prerelease for Hour of Devastation! The Prerelease will be held on Saturday. On-Demand events will be held throughout the weekend, as in previous years. A detailed schedule of all Magic events will be made available closer to the event date.
Schedule
The main gaming hall is only open from 9 am until 9 pm and only until 6 pm on Sunday. As that is only a 12 hour window (maximum) per day, we will try to have judges working 8-hour shifts, though that is subject to change based on final staff size. As we will be looking for a small group of L1 and L2 judges (4 total, per day), preference will be given to judges willing to work all 3 days of the convention.
Compensation
Just like last year, we are offering different compensation packages if you do not need us to provide you with a hotel room and breakfast. Here is the compensation we are offering:
L2 = $175/day -or- $100/day, hotel room breakfast
L1 = $125/day -or- $50/day, hotel room, breakfast
If you work two or more days, you will be given a badge for the entire weekend. If you only work one day, then you will be given a one day badge for that specific day. As mentioned previously, preference for judge staff will be given to those who can work all three days of the convention.
If you have any questions about anything listed above, please feel free to reach out to me on Judge Apps or on Facebook.
The application window for this event will close on June 2, 2017. If early notification of a deicision is needed for travel planning, please mention that in your cover letter.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to working with you at the convention.
