Belgian Nationals 2017

Nationals are back and this is our opportunity to judge one of the most important events of the year!

Nationals are a two-days, on invitation, Standard and Booster Draft mixed format event. They crown the national champion, qualify for the World Magic Cup and award Pro Points. As such, judges are expected to treat them with the mix of professionalism and fun attitude they are known for and that is suited for an event that is both a celebration of the Belgian community and the pinnacle of the competitive play in the country.

The classic judge uniform (judge shirt, black pants, shoes and belt) is expected.

One of the judges will head judge the Sunday PPTQ. Other side events will be staffed by local judges selected through a different application process.

The REL of the main event being competitive, priority will be given to L2+ judges. L1 judges interested about judging these nationals are expected to pass their L2 certification before the end of the selection process.

Compensation: 

Two boxes of Hour of Devastation, lunch, drinks, and a cash travel compensation based on the price of a train ticket between their home and Namur.

Standby:

Standby judges are judges who are here to play the event, but don't mind judging if required.

Standby judges will be activated based on the final number of players. If they are not activated, they will receive their choice of a free entry in the main event (qualification still required) or a voucher for up to 45 € of side events. If they are activated, they will receive Travel Sponsorship.

Hotel:

The TO is offering to book a hotel room for judges at Avenue Félicien Rops 8, B-5000 Namur (3 minutes car drive from the venue). A two person room, for one night, breakfast included, for half a box/judge. We will contact you after selections to ask you if you want this deal.
