2017 Philippine Nationals

Neutral Grounds Philippines is delighted to host the returning event favorite Philippine Nationals with its unique mixed format that will surely bring back old memories from veteran players and create new ones for first timers. Because of the expected turnout for this event we are looking for hardworking judges to help make this event successful.

This event will be a mixed format consisting of Standard and Amonkhet Block Draft.

Application

The organizer is looking to get 12 judges for Day 1 and 8 judges for Day 2. There will also be a group of people who will need to help in tournament set-up on Friday night. Unless instructed otherwise, judges that apply would need to be available on Saturday to be considered for Sunday staff. Applications will end on July 22 and would be published on or before July 31, 2017.

Duties and Responsibilities

Judges are expected to be as professional as possible and maybe expected to do some or all of the following task.

Answer rules questions, perform deck checks, post pairings, distribute result slips, issue penalties, help in investigations, watch some Magic

Help with set-up and clean-up making sure the event is running as smooth and as clean as possible

Provide feedback to fellow judges and to the Tournament Organizer before, during and after the event

Promote the tournament and the side events as soon as you get accepted and until the either event is compleated

There will be an LCT/LCQ on Friday before the tournament, if you wish to judge in these events please indicate it in your application.

Judge Attire

Please wear black judge polo shirts, black pants, belt and closed black shoes. If you do not have a judge shirt, please try to borrow one from another judge.

Food or food stipend will be provided by the organizer on your working days.

Compensation

Judge compensation will be one booster pack per participant of the main event. Ideally all judges should be available for both days, in cases where judge will be available only for one day, Saturday will probably be the main day. e.g. If we get 6 judges for setup, 12 judges on Saturday and 8 judges on Sunday, we will just divide the number of boosters to 26 shares with judges receiving one share per day they help out.
