Event Information
The event
The RPTQ in London for Pro Tour Nashville shall take place on 20•AUG•17 in Dark Sphere. The previous day, a last chance qualifier shall take place. Sunday is also the day of a Standard Showdown.
The format of the LCQ, and the RPTQ shall be Standard. The Head Judge for the weekend shall be Thomas Ralph.
The judges
Dark Sphere would like a number of level 1+ judges to help with one or both days of the event. As well as the basic role of floor judge, we will be appointing a level 2 or higher judge as head judge for the LCQ on Saturday and a level 1 or higher judge as head judge for the Standard Showdown on Sunday. Please indicate appropriately on your application.
Whichever role you are appointed to, you may at any stage be requested to assist with side events or with ancillary tasks such as registration, coverage, scorekeeping, or assisting players.
Dark Sphere values judges who have shown a dedication to event efficiency and integrity.
Compensation
The base compensation for judges per day shall be a box of Hour of Devastation booster packs, or stock to an equivalent value to be taken on the day. Free drinks and snacks are offered throughout the day, and meals whilst on duty will also be paid for. Precise arrangements for these will be advised on the day.
Should you be interested in working the event but the given compensation make it difficult for you to do so, please indicate in your cover letter what arrangements would need to be made for you to attend.
The logistics
Judge report time shall be 10am each day. Finish time shall depend on event requirements but it is not expected that any floor judges shall be required for the top 8 playoffs.
We offer three options to applicants, please tick all which you would accept. The meanings are as follows:
- Volunteer means applying as a standard judge with the above compensation if accepted
- Room sponsorship includes Volunteer plus staying overnight at the head judge's house for any combination of Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights – please specify in your cover letter which nights are required.
- Standby means that you will come to the event ready to judge if required. If you are not required as a judge on Saturday you will receive free entry to the LCQ. If you are not required as a judge on Sunday you will receive free entry to the Standard Showdown.
Applications are open until 20•JLY•17, and we aim to notify successful applicants shortly afterwards. If an early acceptance would be helpful for travel planning reasons, please mention in your cover letter.
