Event Information

Welcome to the application for another Central Region mini-conference!  This conference will be hosted by Hurley's Heroes, and will be foil supported.

For those of you who haven't heard about the new way Central Region conferences will be working this year, let me fill you in.  Instead of running a few large conferences for our region, we will be running a lot of little conferences, all with foil support.  Since the smaller conference model allows cities without a ton of judges to still have a local conference, we're hoping that more judges will be able to come out and learn with us.  Because our aim is to allow the most number of unique judges possible to attend a conference in 2017, we will be giving priority to judges who have not yet been accepted to a 2017 conference.  Keep in mind, should you be planning to attend a conference closer to your city at a later date, by getting foils at this conference, you will be less likely to get them at that closer conference later.  But, if you just want to come to a bunch of conferences to hang out with great judges and learn from interesting and informative presentations, and you couldn't care less about the foil support, feel free to come to as many as you'd like!

Schedule:

10am - Check-in and Opening Announcements
11am - First Comp REL Event, presented by Matt Jacques
12pm - Community and Mentoring, presented by Darren Horve
1pm - Lunch
2pm - Judge/Player Interactions, presented by Alex Jacques
3pm - Turn Based Actions and Shortcuts, presented by Billy Gilmore
4pm - Closing Announcements

In between, there will be presentations and other judge awesomeness.  Details on presentations and schedule will come soon.

This conference can accept 20 judges.

To be accepted, please write a cover letter.  Applications with no cover letter will be accepted at a lower priority.  Priority will be given to L1s and unseasoned L2s over more experienced judges.

Everyone who applies to the conference will be put as either "attendee" or "standby".  "Standby" means that, for one reason or another, you are not eligible for foils.  I am not actually declining anyone so that those who are not eligible for foils can still read the forum posts and get important conference information.

Testing for L1 and L2 will likely be available.  If you would like to test, make sure to mention it in your application, and be prepared to show us proof of your readiness when we follow up.  If you do not inform us beforehand, we are unlikely to test you at the conference.

If you are interested in presenting at this or another conference, please e-mail Samantha Davis at ChaosPlatypus@gmail.com with details on your presentation topic.
