Grand Prix Montréal

Bonjour judges!

On behalf of Game Keeper & Spellkeeper Events and Mauro Bongiovanni, I'd like to thank you for your interest in judging at Grand Prix Montréal! The main event will take place on March 15th and 16th, 2014, with Last Chance Grand Prix Trials being held on March 14th. The tournament will be held at the Palais des congrès de Montréal. The format is Theros/Born of the Gods Limited.

The Head Judge for Grand Prix Montréal is Kevin Desprez, L4 from France.

Applications will be accepted until January 18th, 2014. If you have any questions, please direct them to Jason Wong at jasonwong9@gmail.com. Late applications will NOT be accepted.

Expectations

Judging is fun, but it’s also a lot of work. While working, judges may be expected to help with the following, and more:

-          Taking judge calls

-          Controlling the crowd

-          Providing customer service

-          Setting up/taking down tables, chairs, table cloths, pairings boards, table numbers

-          Picking up garbage

-          Pushing in chairs

Accommodations

There are a limited number of slots for judges who require room sponsorship. If selected, you will be sharing a room with another judge for Friday and Saturday night. Please indicate in your application if there is anyone you would like to room with specifically.

For judges travelling long distances, there may be room sponsorship available for Thursday or Sunday night. Please indicate in your application if you wish for either of these days. Judges given Thursday night hotel will be required to judge on Friday, and judges given Sunday night hotel may be required to help out Sunday evening.

Please note that you have a higher chance of being accepted if you do not require room sponsorship.

Compensation

L1 and L2 judges will receive 1 box (36 packs) of the latest Magic set per day worked. L3+ judges will receive an additional ½ box (18 packs) per day worked.

Judges working at least two full days will receive a selection of promotional foils as a thank you gift from Wizards of the Coast.

Judges will also receive a $20 food stipend for each day worked.

Judge Conference

There will not be a judge conference at this Grand Prix.
