Event Information
Madness Games and Comics – Friday Night Magic
As many of you may already know, Madness is home to one of the largest and most logistically challenging FNMs in the world. For this reason, we are looking to open opportunities to work and train at our FNMs to other local and nearby judges. Judging regular REL events at Madness is a great deal of fun, but judges also find themselves constantly learning and growing. Judges interested in working FNM at Madness should be ready to handle calls from formats including Sealed, Modern, and Standard, and should be willing to take direction and learn new skills.
Professionalism and good customer service are firmly held tenants of our current corps, and future judges should share a similar interest. Judges applying for this position are expected to be L1, but there is not a restriction on level. Judges looking to certify for L1 should email events@madnessgames.com before applying.
How this process works: Scheduling: Each month, an application form will be posted on Judge Apps for judges to apply to. Judges will apply for specific dates and will only be considered for dates listed as available. Judges may be accepted for 0-all of the available dates. Applicants must be available from 6:00PM – 11:59PM (unless specified) for each FNM applied to. The schedule for the month will be posted at least 1 week prior to the first FNM shift.
Compensation: Floor Judge – 12 booster packs of the most recent standard set per FNM worked.
Travel compensation: Judges looking to work Madness FNM events to further develop FNM in his or her home store(s)/area may be entitled to travel compensation. This will be evaluated on a case by case basis, but this will generally only apply to drives greater than 2 hours. Please email events@madnessgames.com if you would like to further inquire about travel compensation.
What to include in your application: Please fill out the required fields alongside the cover letter. The cover letter does not need to be extensively formal or lengthy, but it should cover previous judging experiences, what benefits you would like to gain from judging at Madness, and what your current goals are as a judge. Judges who have a work history with Madness may leave this blank unless there is additional info they would like to provide.
