Event Information
Outpost Brussels is organizing a Pro Tour Qualifier in Belgium's capital. As such, it will likely draw players from all over the country and beyond. It will be a great opportunity to judge the highest level of competition that a store could organize, and players are expecting judges to bring their A game to maintain a fair and fun tournament. We will work as a team, so it's one of the best opportunities to teach and learn. Also, because the event should include a level 3 judge, it's a good opportunity to take your level 2 test if you feel ready.
Judges from all level could apply, but knowledge of the IPG is mandatory and L2+ will get priority, as well as L1s willing to be tested for L2 during the event.
Judges could apply as Volunteer or Standby. Standby judges will only get staffed if the attendance will go over some thresholds, and will play for free otherwise. If you don't mind to play into this Standard event, please apply as Standby.
Public information about the event: http://www.outpost.be/website/index.php?option=com_events&task=view_detail&agid=2033&year=2014&month=1&day=5&Itemid=28
Selection will be made on 23th of December. Because being staffed on a PTQ is seen as an opportunity and a reward for past activity, the Regional Coordinator will be involved in the selection.
Compensation offered by the TO is the following:
* Total Judge compensation Pool: store credit of 2 €/player (up to a maximum of 240 € per event),
* The pool will be divided by the HJ between judges based on specific responsibilities before, during and after the event,
* The store credit can be accumulated from event to event but is only valid in the store where it has been earned. It can be used on any purchase (events, food, drinks, singles, products, etc.),
* Transportation cost cash for L3+ Judges based on train ticket,
* Food Benefit: 1 Free Meal/Judge during the tournament if 7 rounds + Free Water all day,
* 2 Free Meals/Judge during the tournament if 8 rounds + Free Water all day,
* Judges are not allowed to play in the event that they are judging,
* A spare judge system will also be used: after the TO's expected number of player has been communicated to the Head Judge, a 20% increase will be added to that number and if the total results in an extra judge needed, it will be provided accordingly. That Judge will be considered as a spare judge so if he is eventually not needed for judging purposes, he will be able to play in the event for free.
* The number of judges necessary for events will follow the recommended WOTC chart (the Judge level required may vary according to the event)
