Hairy Tarantula Challenge Series - November 2017

Hello Judges, and welcome to the 2017 Hairy Tarantula Challenge Series! We have one solicitation per month of events. Please read this whole listing as it has details on applications, acceptances, and compensation.

EVENTS

This solicitation is for the following events of the HTCS:

November 5 Legacy
November 11 Standard
November 18 Iconic Masters Draft
November 25 Legacy

We are looking for at least one L1+ judge per event. For Iconic Masters Draft, we are also looking for judges who have experience with Competitive REL, Multi-Pod Draft events (such as Nationals or Day 2 of Limited GPs).

EXPECTATIONS

Judging is a lot of fun, but it's also hard work. During your event, you may be asked to do any of the following:

• Take judge calls
• Clean up trash
• Push in chairs
• Clear aisles
• Post Pairings/Standings
• Clean up trash
• Distribute product
• Push in chairs
• Crowd Control
• Clean up trash
• Perform Deck Checks
• Watch Magic
• Push in chairs
• Clean up trash!

Judges are expected to read the relevant documents for their event(s), including:

• Magic Comprehensive Rules (CR)
• Magic Tournament Rules (MTR)
• Infraction Procedure Guide (IPG)
• Judging at Regular REL (JAR)
• Release Notes for appropriate set(s)

Judges are also expected to arrive at their call time (roughly 45 minutes before their event is scheduled to start), in appropriate attire (Magic Judge shirt or black button-up shirt; black cargo pants, slacks or skirt; comfortable black shoes).

COMPENSATION

Compensation is based on event.

For Iconic Masters Draft, the Head Judge will receive $120

For all other events, Floor Judges will be paid $100

Amounts are in cash. You may choose to receive your compensation in store credit, with a 25% bonus.

Late applications will be accepted for later events in the month, but will be given lower priority than applications received before the deadline.
