Vancouver Judge Conference

Hello, judges,

Along with Grand Prix Vancouver, we will be running a judge conference on Friday January 24th and we're excited to have you join us!

Please note that the registration deadline for the conference is January 3rd.   To ensure we have sufficient space, please ensure you've registered before then.  Late registrations are welcome, but will not receive the participation judge foils.

Time & Location

The conference start time is 1:00pm and the end time is TBD; it will be held at the Vancouver Convention Centre, which is also the site for the GP. For judges working Friday of the Grand Prix, the main event comes first, but a full effort will be made to ensure everyone who wishes to gets to attend seminars. To help make this possible, we're looking for presenters willing to present twice. 

Judges working the event should also note that the event comes first. People that have offered to work Friday may be randomly selected to work at specific times, and may miss some or all of the seminars and the foils they would normally receive for going.

The conference is open to the public, including judges not judging the event, and players. However, only certified judges will receive participation foils.  

Foils

All attendees actively participating in seminars will receive judge foils provided by Wizards of the Coast. The number of foils you receive is based on the number of seminars you attend.

Presenting Seminars

Have intriguing or valuable knowledge or experience to share? We're inviting anyone with the opportunity to present their own seminar. All you have to do is email Maxknowlan@gmail.com with your topic and summary, as well as any materials you might need.

The theme for this seminar is running good tournaments, which may include topics such as:

-Head judging events (of all sizes)
-Investigations
-Team leading
-Answering judge calls
-Making tournaments run faster

Though these are some suggestions, any ideas are welcome.

If you wish to present but do not have a particular topic in mind, please let us know anyway! We will help find something for you.
