Comp REL Camp

Event Information

With GPTs disappearing, our community requires more opportunities to gain competitive experience.  There has been other camps of this sort in other areas so I want to bring this idea west and hold a camp here in the wonderful wonderland of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.  L1s that are interested in getting their L2 certification should apply for this event.  I am also looking for volunteer judges to come out and create scenarios as well. I am also looking for a few L2s to help lead theory and feedback on the scenario. 

This event will be held at Star Lotus Games in Edmonton.    

Event Summary

This event will be an all-day event.  This event will test L1s on checking deck lists, managing the floor, being on the papers team, and making calls on the scenarios that are presented.  This event will primarily use Standard, and Modern.  There will be some sealed practice, and draft calls as well. 

Learning

Things you will learn at the camp is how to hand out penalties according to the IPG, fixing the game state if required.  De-escalation of scenarios that may cause a disruption in the event.  How to investigate the scenarios, and possibly hand out game losses, or match losses. 

Please put in your cover letter why you are interested in this event and how it will benefit you as you grow on in the judge program.  

Testing

L1 testing is available for this event, please let me know if you would like to test for L1.
